There are recent changes in Colonial Heights, including how SMUD bills you for power. Please take a moment to see how the new rate plans affect you.
Time-of-Day Summer Rates
Summer is here and so are summer rates. Peak hours are still 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. – Monday through Friday. Peak hours are the hours that cost you the most. That means rates are lower the other 21 hours of the day during the week, as well as all hours on weekends and holidays.
From June 1 through September 30, you’ll pay less for electricity when you shift your usage to mid-peak and off-peak hours on weekdays. Shifting some of your electricity usage to these lower-cost times can help you manage your summer electricity bills.
June 4th, 2019 there was a public hearing about the rate increases. You can find June 4th's hearing plus more SMUD Livestream here.
