As summer comes to an end, we find ourselves saying goobye for another year to our cherished Colonial Park wading pool. This delightful feature has become a beloved staple of our community during the warmer months, offering families and children a refreshing oasis to cool off and enjoy the sun. The laughter of children splashing in the water, the joyful shouts echoing through the air, and the sight of families gathering around the pool have all contributed to the vibrant atmosphere that makes Colonial Park such a special place.

The wading pool serves not only as a recreational facility but also as a gathering spot where friendships are formed and memories are created. Throughout the summer, it has witnessed countless moments of joy, from children learning to swim to parents relaxing on the sidelines, enjoying the sunshine and the camaraderie of fellow park-goers. The joyful laughing, colorful beach balls, and the occasional ice cream party have added to the festive spirit that envelops the area.

On Saturday, June 14 2025, the Colonial Heights Neighborhood Association celebrated the opening day of the Colonial Park wading pool with popsicles provided by the neighborhood association. City Councilmember Eric Guerra also came out to support the pool opening with his family.

As we reflect on the past season, it is our hope that the city recognizes the importance of maintaining and staffing this beloved amenity for years to come. Proper upkeep and attentive staff are essential to ensuring that the wading pool remains a safe and enjoyable environment for all visitors. It is vital that the city continues to invest in this community treasure, not only for the enjoyment of our current residents but also for future generations who will come to appreciate the simple joys of a summer day spent splashing in the water.

Let us advocate for its continued presence in our community, ensuring that it remains a vibrant part of our summer experience for many years to come.

See you all next year!
