Colonial Heights Neighborhood Association Monthly Meeting
August 14, 2025 from 6:60pm-8pm
Colonial Park
On Thursday, August 14, 2025, the Colonial Heights Neighborhood Association organized a delightful and engaging special event that brought the community together: Potluck in the Park! Over 175 neighbors came out and brought their favorite dish to share with our community and enjoyed a slice from Luigi's Pizza Parlor. Families enjoyed live music from our favorite local band The Igors, games, a pop-up vendor market, and our annual raffle fundraiser. This year we had over $1,000 in donated raffle items from local vendors (listed below) and sold over $550 in raffle tickets. Proceeds from the raffle support CHNA’s programming throughout the coming year.

This much-anticipated gathering saw neighbors from all corners of our vibrant community come together, each bringing their favorite dish to share, creating a rich tapestry of flavors and culinary delights that reflected the diverse backgrounds and traditions of our residents. From savory casseroles to sweet desserts, the variety was astounding, and it fostered a warm atmosphere of sharing and camaraderie.
As families gathered under the shade of the park’s leafy trees, they were treated to live music performed by our beloved local band, The Igors, whose energetic and engaging performance set the perfect backdrop for the festivities. Their catchy tunes had everyone tapping their feet and many even joined in on the dancing, creating an infectious spirit of joy that filled the air. The music not only entertained but also encouraged social interaction among neighbors, sparking conversations and forging new friendships. Laughter and excitement echoed throughout the park, making it a memorable experience for everyone involved.
As part of the festivities, we also held our annual raffle fundraiser, which has become a cherished tradition within the Colonial Heights Neighborhood Association. The proceeds from the raffle play a crucial role in supporting CHNA’s programming throughout the coming year, enabling us to organize more events, community initiatives, and improvements that benefit all residents. The excitement of the raffle added an extra layer of anticipation to the day, as attendees eagerly awaited the announcement of the winners, hoping to take home one of the fantastic prizes generously donated by local businesses.

Overall, the Potluck in the Park was not just an event; it was a celebration of community spirit, unity, and collaboration. It provided a wonderful opportunity for neighbors to connect, share stories, and create lasting memories, reinforcing the bonds that make Colonial Heights such a special place to live. We look forward to many more events like this in the future, as we continue to nurture and grow our community together.
